SHOCK TEST! Reception will be hot promises Sharpe.
HUDDERSFIELD RU are looking forward to giving Bromsgrove a 'warm welcome' when the Birmingham side make their first-ever visit to the town tomorrow (3.00).
The recent cold snap has left Dan Hyde's Huddersfield without a game for three weeks, so the head coach and his squad will be extra keen to return to action, while at the same time reversing the 3-20 defeat they suffered at the hands of the newly-promoted National III side back in October.
Huddersfield will be doubly determined to put up a good performance as Bromsgrove are the only side to inflict a defeat by more than two points on the Lockwood Park club, which should give skipper Nick Sharpe and his men even more of an incentive.
"After being laid off for three weeks because of the weather, the lads are champing at the bit to get back into action, and it promises to be a really big game," said Sharpe.
"Although they have been up to Yorkshire already this season, It will be the first time Bromsgrove have ever visited our place, and I think they might be in for a bit of a shock.
"In the four defeats we have suffered this season, they are the only team to beat us by more than a couple of points, so we have something to prove tomorrow, and I think it should be a cracking match."
Apart from the injuries to Mike Clark (shoulder) and George Hinchliff (ribs), both picked up in the last game they played against Kendal, Hyde should be able to name a pretty-much full strength side, and maybe will include himself on the bench as back row cover.
Lawrence Sanderson looks set to get another starting chance at prop, with Francis Entressengle vying with Ben Morrill to start at hooker, but elsewhere the side is the same as the one named for last week's called-off clash at Leicester Lions.
In the absence of Clark at centre, Dave Hall again comes in off the wing to partner Lee Paxman, with the two Adams, Ryder and Sutcliffe on the flanks and Tom Owen at full-back.
The bench is probably the only place subject to a late change, but almost certainly included among the subs will be Alex Battye, Chris Duffy, Ben Morrill and James Davies.
Huddersfield: Owen; Ryder, Hall, L Paxman, Sutcliffe; Johnson, Hinchliffe; Sanderson, Entressengle, Stringwell, Rhodes, Brown, Lewis, Hoyle, Sharpe. Subs: Duffy, Davies, Battye, Morrill, B Paxman.
