 SHINTECH'S K-BIN DOUBLES PVC COMPOUNDING TO 250 MILLION POUNDS
 HOUSTON, July 5 /PRNewswire/ -- Following the recent report of Shintech's 375-million-pound expansion of poly(vinyl chloride) resin capacity at Shintech's Freeport, Texas plant, Chihiro Kanagawa, president of Shintech Inc., has announced that K-Bin Inc., a wholly owned rigid-PVC compounding subsidiary, will double its manufacturing capacity this year.
 Todd Walker, president of K-Bin, said that 100 million pounds of additional compounding capacity would be put on stream during the fourth quarter of this year at its Freeport facility. This is K-Bin's second expansion since it began operation in 1986, and will boost total compounding capacity to 250 million pounds per year.
 K-Bin produces pelletized as well as dry-blended PVC compounds, clear and opaque, for sale to fabricators of rigid-vinyl film, packaging, and building products. Typical products include vinyl windows, doors, siding, containers, pipe, and pipe fittings.
