 SHERMAN RETURNS TO PARAMOUNT COMMUNICATIONS
 AS SENIOR VP-CORPORATE COMMUNICATIONS
NEW YORK, Feb. 25 /PRNewswire/ -- Paramount Communications Inc. (NYSE: PCI) announced today that Jerry Sherman has returned to the company as senior vice president, corporate communications.
Sherman, who first joined the company in April 1979, took early retirement in September 1990, but continued to play an active role as a consultant.
Sherman will be responsible for the public relations and related communications activities of the company. He succeeds Nicholas J. Ashooh, who has left the company to pursue other interests.
Martin S. Davis, Paramount's chairman and chief executive officer, said, "Stanley Jaffe, the company's president and chief operating officer, and I are delighted to welcome Jerry back and look forward to his leadership in again directing the company's public relations. We are confident he will handle every assignment with the same skill, creativity and sensitivity that made him such a valuable member of our management team in the past."
Sherman began his business career in 1947 with the New York Journal of Commerce as a financial writer, columnist, associate editor and foreign correspondent. In 1957, he entered the public relations field working for several agencies before starting his own consulting firm. Sherman attended City College of New York and New York University.
He is a member of the New York Financial Writers' Association, the National Press Club, the Overseas Press Club and the New York Society of Silurians. In 1988, he was honored for "distinguished service to financial journalism and to the New York Financial Writers' Association" by that organization on the occasion of its 50th anniversary.
