 SHELL LAUNCHES NEW CONCEPT IN NATURAL GAS MARKETING
 HOUSTON, May 5 /PRNewswire/ -- Shell Oil Company announced today


that it has introduced a new natural gas marketing program using an independent marketer who will sell natural gas under the Shell brand name.
 EnTrade Corporation, headquartered in Louisville, Ky., will receive natural gas from Shell and market it in four states using Shell's identity in conjunction with its own.
 The branded reseller agreement is believed to be the first between a major oil company and an independent marketer for the sale of natural gas. Such agreements are common in the sale of gasoline and other oil products, where independent wholesalers, or "jobbers," market under the brand names of major oil companies.
 "This new program has distinct advantages for both Shell and EnTrade," said Tony Rexrode, Shell manager of natural gas marketing. "It expands our marketing into areas which can be more efficiently served by EnTrade than Shell directly, and enables EnTrade to offer customers the security of firm natural gas supplies." The program will be introduced this summer in Alabama, South Carolina, Virginia and Missouri. Success of the program could lead to similar agreements in other areas where Shell does not market directly.
 Shell is a leader in natural gas marketing among oil and gas producers, with a strong position in direct sales to local distribution companies and industrial users.
 EnTrade is a national independent natural gas marketer with eight regional offices located throughout the country.
