SHELL AND U.S. MARINE CORPS RESERVES LAUNCH 1993 'TOYS FOR TOTS' DRIVE 'EVERY CHILD DESERVES A LITTLE CHRISTMAS'

HOUSTON, Nov. 15 /PRNewswire/ -- Shell Oil Company and the U.S. Marine Corps Reserve will launch the national 1993 Toys for Tots program today. The primary focus of the Toys for Tots program is to collect new, unused toys to distribute to needy children during the holiday season.
"Shell is proud to assist the Marine Corps Reserve with the national Toys for Tots program. Over 6,000 Shell service stations nationwide will participate as drop off points to collect toys for needy children," said Bill Schutzenhofer, vice president marketing for Shell Oil Company. "We hope that our retailers' participation provides a convenient means for more people to contribute to this very worthy effort."
Beginning today, Shell service station dealers and jobbers nationwide will begin accepting new and unused toys for the Toys for Tots program at their service stations. Participating Shell service stations will have a bright red box marked "Toys for Tots" which contributors can use for drop off points for toys any time between now and Dec. 23.
Approximately 8 million toys are collected annually through the Toys for Tots program for needy children.
