SHELDON: Joy for cyclists.

FAMILIES in Sheldon are being urged to get on their bikes after a pounds 230,000 cycle route extension got the go-ahead.

The second part of a cycle route will run through Sheldon Country Park, south of the railway to Bell Walk where links up to the first part.

It offers a safe route to work from Chelmsley Wood and Garrett's Green to Marston Green Rail Station. City transport chief Coun Len Gregory said: "This encourages residents to use city parks for health and exercise, "Residents can use these traffic-free paths all year round
