SHANGRI-LA INKS DEAL WITH UNIBOATS.
Shangri-La Barr al Jissah Resort and Spa signed an agreement on Wednesday with Uniboats, whereby the 100 per cent Omani owned company will exclusively manage the resort's water sports facilities.
The signing ceremony took place in the presence of representatives from Al Raffd Fund, which supports the creation and development of small and medium enterprises in the sultanate, representatives from Zubair Small Enterprises Centre, and senior management officials from the resort.
Juergen Doerr, general manager of Shangri-La, said, 'We are dedicated to supporting the local business community of Muscat, and this has always been part of our core values since the launch of Shangri-La Barr al Jissah Resort and Spa more than a decade ago. We believe in the importance of partnership to enable small enterprises to thrive and look forward to working with Uniboats.'
Uniboats is a well-established watersports provider currently operating Oman's prime Jet Ski and Watersports Centre at Al Mouj. The agreement for Uniboats to manage the water sports centre at Shangri-La will comes into effect from January 1.
Shangri-La Barr al Jissah Resort and Spa supports Al Raffd Fund recognises the significance of opening up new ventures as a means of generating employment opportunities to citizens. Such ventures contribute to the economic growth of the country on a broader spectrum and enable individuals to become strong and competent professionals.
