SFX dig themselves out of hole with win; GOALS LIVERPOOL SOUTH SPEKE.

AS WE enter the summer months the temperature has risen both on and off the pitch at the Goals South venue.

The hot temperatures haven''t deterred any of the teams with some feisty games on show this past week.

The Monday League had a number of stand out games, none more so than the encounter between SFX FC and Digger FC, which was tagged game of the night.

It was always going to be a close match as both are equally matched on paper and in their league positions. The victor would go top and take a real psychological edge heading into the final two games of the season.

Digger FC started the game well controlling possession but it began to count for nothing as they failed to convert their possession into goals. SFX FC looked to capitalise as they piled on the pressure in the closing stages of the game.

Despite a spirited effort from Digger it was SFX who clinched the victory 10-9. Missed chances and a clear cutting edge proved to be Digger''s downfall but they will take positives from the fact the league is far from over.

In the Tuesday League, Inter me Van looked to turn around their poor start to the season with a much needed victory against Costa Del Swan.

Costa were looking to pile the pressure on league leaders John Matrix and with Inter''s poor run of form they may have thought this would be a straight forward victory, it was anything but.

Inter started the game strongly much to the surprise of Costa Del Swan who looked sluggish, however as the game progressed Costa''s qualities shown through as they clinched an 11-8 victory.
