 SEVERN TRENT INVESTS IN UTILITY SYSTEMS MARKET
 RADONR, Pa., April 6 /PRNewswire/ -- Severn Trent Plc, through its


subsidiary Severn Trent (U.S.), Inc., today announced the acquisition of Computer Systems & Applications, Inc. (CS&A) as part of its continuing expansion into international markets.
 Based in Houston, CS&A specializes in providing computer software packages to utilities, focusing on customer information and billing systems.
 CS&A has established markets in North America, Canada, Australia and the United Kingdom. Revenue for the financial year just ended was $6 million.
 President of Severn Trent (U.S.), Inc., Tom Gorman said: "The acquisition of CS&A is a valuable addition to our operation, making new software skills available to us and giving us an established sales infrastructure in the U.S.
 "The U.S. represents the biggest single market for sales of computer systems to utilities, and we intend to be a leader in this field."
 President of CS&A, Jim Oliver, said: "We are delighted to be part of the Severn Trent organization. With these new resources behind us, we can look forward to a substantial growth in our share of the market."
 CS&A will become an integral part of Severn Trent Systems but will continue to trade under the CS&A title. It will market the full range of utility systems developed in its $1 billion water utility in the United Kingdom including its powerful work management system, DOJM. Oliver will be heading up its worldwide utility system marketing business.
