SEVEN-UP USA AND TWININGS JOIN TO MARKET READY-TO-DRINK ICED TEA PRODUCTS

& DALLAS, Jan. 12 /PRNewswire/ -- Seven-Up USA and Twining Crosfield &


Co. Ltd., today said they have formed a venture to develop and market

ready-to-drink iced tea products under the Twinings trademark in the United States.
 Officials of the two companies completed formation of the venture today in New York. The companies did not announce specific marketing plans, but said they expect to make product and marketing announcements this spring.
 To establish the venture, Seven-Up USA created a new subsidiary, Seven-Up RTD, Inc. At the same time, Twining Crosfield & Co. Ltd., created Twinings Beverages, Inc. The two new companies joined to form Twinings/Seven-Up Beverages, LLC, through which the ready-to-drink iced tea products will be developed and marketed.
 Twining Crosfield & Co. Ltd., part of Associated British Foods plc, is the world's foremost blender and packer of premium teas. Twinings' wide range of products, including its internationally renowned Earl Grey and Breakfast blends, are distributed in over 90 countries. The London- based company has been in the tea business continuously since 1706 with first recorded sales to the USA in 1760.
 Seven-Up USA is a unit of Dallas-based Dr Pepper/Seven-Up Corporation, the third largest producer of soft drink concentrates in the United States. 7UP has been a market leader in the lemon-lime category of the soft drink industry for more than 60 years.
