SEVEN SEAS CRUISE LINE NOW ACCEPTS THE AMERICAN EXPRESS CARD; COMPANIES TO EMBARK ON JOINT MARKETING EFFORTS THAT PROMOTE CRUISES

SAN FRANCISCO, Feb. 1 /PRNewswire/ -- Seven Seas Cruise Line and American Express today announced Seven Seas will now accept the American Express Card for reservations in addition to all on-board expenses. Acceptance of the card is effective immediately.
"As part of Seven Seas' commitment to outstanding customer service, we are pleased to accept the American Express Card," said Stein Kruse, executive vice president and chief operating officer of Seven Seas Cruise Line. "Many of our passengers who carry the Card enjoy the convenience it affords them on cruises. And with our inaugural European season beginning in the spring, 1993 is a great year for Cardmembers to take advantage of this new payment option."
"We are very excited and pleased to welcome Seven Seas Cruise Line into the family of cruise companies that accept the American Express Card," said Thomas O. Ryder, executive vice president of Establishment Services at American Express. "Our Cardmembers enjoy the luxury and excitement of cruising, and we are certain that they will appreciate the fine service and amenities which Seven Seas Cruise Line provides."
The companies will work together on cooperative marketing campaigns to encourage cardmembers to cruise on Seven Seas Cruise Line.
American Express provides ongoing marketing support to merchants who accept the American Express Card. The company introduces cooperative advertising and direct mail campaigns that build incremental business for merchants, while providing exclusive offers to American Express cardmembers. Additionally, American Express offers merchants 24-hour service, business profiles, marketing analysis and other specially tailored programs."
Seven Seas' expanded cruise schedule for 1993 includes 7-12 night voyages to the Mediterranean, Greek Islands, Scandinavia and the Baltic Republics during the Spring/Summer season and varied itineraries throughout Southeast Asia in the fall/winter months.
