SES scoops multimillion pound deal for schools.

SES Engineering Services has secured a multimillion-pound contract on the development of a new PS42m schools project in Northumberland.

The specialist engineer has won the deal on the joint schools and leisure centre in Ponteland for Northumberland County Council, having been appointed by Kier Regional Building, the council's main contractor, to provide a comprehensive range of mechanical, electrical and plumbing services.

The new facility, which has been designed to link three buildings in a crescent, is being delivered as part of a reorganisation of the Ponteland Partnership which is seeing a PS52m investment in schools.

The new schools will cater for a total of 2,046 nursery, primary and secondary age students and accommodate 245 staff and visitors whilst providing state-of-theart learning spaces and new community facilities, including a library, swimming pool, fitness suite, sports courts, a clip'n'climb wall and a soft play area as well as high quality outdoor facilities including a full size 3G pitch and sports fields.

A new fire station will also form part of the development.

SES operations director North East, Michael Dickinson, said: "We are delighted to be working with Kier Regional Building on such a major education project for the region. Our extensive experience within both the education and blue light sectors will be key to the smooth delivery of the development."
