SERVICE AUTO-DIALS NUMBERS REQUESTED FROM INFORMATION
DETROIT, April 10 /PRNewswire/ -- Michigan Bell customers in

metropolitan Detroit who call Information for a phone number can have that number dialed automatically starting Monday.
With the new Information Call Completion service, Michigan Bell offers to automatically dial the numbers customers have requested from Information. The service is available only to customers using touch- tone phones.
"For people who need a quick and convenient way to place calls to numbers that are not familiar, Information Call Completion will make it easier to use the telephone," said Theresa Osborne, Michigan Bell general manager of operator services.
Osborne said the new service will be particularly useful to people in a hurry and to those who are in places that make it difficult to write down or memorize telephone numbers -- for example, while placing calls from busy public telephones or while using cellular phones.
Each call using the service will cost 30 cents, plus normal charges, for each completed call. There is no charge if the call cannot be completed due to a busy signal or no answer.
Customers with physical or mental limitations are exempt from the 30-cent charge. The service won't be available for calls to non- published telephone numbers.
Information Call Completion was introduced in the west part of the state, from Grand Rapids to Traverse City, beginning in March.
The Detroit-area debut is part of a statewide phase-in that will see more than 70 percent of customers gaining access to the service by the end of 1992. The service will become available to additional customers in 1993.
To use the service, customers will continue to call information (1-555-1212) to request telephone numbers as they do today. The requested telephone number will be released on a recorded message which will include an offer to automatically dial and complete the call:
"Thank you. The number is (requested number) and your call can by dialed by Michigan Bell for an additional charge of 30 cents. Normal usage charges apply. Press '1' now and we will dial this call for you."
Customers who wish to dial the number themselves may hang up the phone and dial as usual. Those who want further assistance may stay on the line and be reconnected to an operator.
Information Call Completion can be offered only for calls that originate in areas served by Michigan Bell and terminate in the same area code region. Michigan Bell's switching equipment is able to determine which calls are eligible for the service.
 AVAILABILITY OF INFORMATION CALL COMPLETION
Information Call Completion will be available in areas served by digital call-processing equipment. The service will be phased in during the April-June period for all parts of the following communities:
