SERV-TECH ANNOUNCES APPOINTMENT OF NEW PRESIDENT
HOUSTON, Dec. 23 /PRNewswire/ -- Richard W. Krajicek, chairman of

the board and chief executive officer of Serv-Tech, Inc. (NASDAQ: STEC), announced the appointment of James E. Dixon as president of the company. Dixon has served as executive vice president of Serv-Tech since July 1991. Previously, he was vice president, Harmony Construction Corporation, Baton Rouge, La., an industrial construction and maintenance company; president of Crest, Inc., Beaumont, Texas, a general industrial construction company owned by Turner Industries, Inc.; and, vice president of sales and marketing for Turner Industries. Krajicek stated, "Serv-Tech is very fortunate to have Dixon on board as we enter the greatest growth phase in the history of the company. His many years of successful corporate leadership in our industry will greatly enhance our organization's ability to continue its expansion."
Dixon holds a B.S. in Industrial Engineering from Louisiana State University, is a guest lecturer for their MBA Program, and serves on their board of advisors for the Industrial and Manufacturing Systems Department of Engineering. Dixon has served on the National Management Education Committee of the Associated Building Contractors, president of the Sabine Area Piping Contractor's Association, chairman of the Constructors Association of the Sabine Area, Rotary Club, and numerous other committees and activities.
The company also announced that it had acquired the assets of Terminal Technologies, Inc., an Illinois-based company providing specialty tank cleaning services to petroleum marketing terminals in the Eastern and Midwestern United States. Utilizing its patented hydrocarbon reclaimer system, Terminal Technologies separates reusable hydrocarbons, water and solids from sludges that accumulate in petroleum product storage tanks, minimizing disposal of waste products. The company was founded in 1989 and had revenues of $2 million in its most recent fiscal year ended February 1991. The acquisition price for the assets was $427,000, and Serv-Tech also assumed certain liabilities totalling approximately $1.1 million of Terminal Technologies. Additional consideration will be paid if Terminal Technologies meets certain minimum revenue and profitability criteria over the next two years.
Terminal Technologies will operate under its own name as part of Serv-Tech's environmental services division. The addition of Terminal Technologies' specialized services will enhance Serv-Tech's environmental product line, increasing its market coverage in tank cleaning services.
Serv-Tech, Inc. provides specialty maintenance services to the refining, gas processing and petrochemical industries in the United States and Europe.
