SEPTA GENERAL MANAGER TO OFFICIALLY OPEN
COMMUNITY INFORMATION CENTER 10 A.M. TOMORROW
 Date: Tuesday, May 12
 Time: 10 a.m.
Place: SEPTA RailWorks Community Information Center,
Neighborhood Action Bureau, 2565 Germantown Ave.,
 Philadelphia.
Event: SEPTA General Manager Louis J. Gambaccini will officially
open one of three SEPTA Community Information Centers
 in the RailWorks construction area.
 Details:
"The goal for our Community Information Centers," said SEPTA RailWorks Communications Manager Leroy Howell, "is to make it convenient for North Philadelphia residents to get first hand information about RailWorks construction activity progress."
The Community Information Centers have been working closely with SEPTA to keep their respective neighborhoods informed. When asked to take part in the RailWorks project, Len Zangwill, director of Operations at the Neighborhood Action Bureau (NAB), reacted right away, "We feel that this project will have a large impact upon the community, so we are happy to be a Community Information Center."
NAB was the first community organization to meet the criteria and sign up as a RailWorks Community Information Center. Two other centers are also in operation in North Philadelphia: East Poplar NAC, 703 N. 8th Street at the southern end of the construction area, and Liberty View Medical Center, 3450 N. 17th Street at the northern end.
RailWorks is replacing 25 bridges plus tracks and overhead wires between Wayne Junction and 9th & Brown Streets in North Philadelphia.
Participating: Joining Gambaccini, and available to answer questions about RailWorks and the Community Information Centers, will be: Dan Lynch, SEPTA's senior project engineer; Leroy Howell, manager of RailWorks Communications, and Steward Winn, project manager for O'Brien, Kreitzberg Associates, the construction manager for RailWorks.
CONTACT: Leroy Howell manager of RailWorks Communications, 215-580-7661, or SEPTA Press Relations, 215-580-7842.
