SEPTA FINE-TUNING RAILWORKS TRAIN AND BROAD STREET LINE SCHEDULES,
 EFFECTIVE MAY 10
First month of RailWorks construction right on schedule
PHILADELPHIA, May 6 /PRNewswire/ -- To further improve RailWorks railroad and subway connections, new timetables for the SEPTA Regional Rail Division routes now terminating at the Fern Rock Transportation Center -- R2 Warminster, R3 West Trenton, and R5 Lansdale-Doylestown -- will become effective Sunday (May 10), along with a new Broad Street Line schedule (dated April 5), SEPTA said today.
The timetables are now available at Market East, Suburban and 30th Street Stations, and will be available at railroad stations along the affected routes by the end of the week.
The new railroad timetables will include changes to the Broad Street Line connections listed for each train. Minor changes have also been made to the Route R3 West Trenton departure times for four weekday morning inbound (to Fern Rock) peak hour trains. On Route R5, the 5:53 p.m. outbound train from Fern Rock to Lansdale has been extended to Doylestown. The Broad Street Line timetable will include significant changes to the Broad-Ridge Spur schedule.
 RAILWORKS PROJECT CONSTRUCTION ON SCHEDULE
SEPTA said that during the first four weeks of RailWorks, construction has been on schedule with more than 10 percent of this phase of the project completed. The work is currently underway in four areas of North Philadelphia: between the intersections of 9th and Brown streets and 9th and Jefferson streets; between 9th and Oxford streets and 9th and Diamond streets; between 11th and Dauphin streets and 16th Street and Indiana Avenue, and between 19th Street and Allegheny Avenue and 20th Street and Atlantic Avenue.
 KEEPING PROMISES
In addition to honoring its pledge to fine tune service, as demonstrated by the schedule changes on Sunday, SEPTA said it has been making good on its Service Guarantee Program. The most recent figures available show that SEPTA has reimbursed 144 customers (from April 6 to April 24) who have been delayed by more than 15 minutes -- compared to SEPTA's schedules for railroad Routes R2, R3 and R5 and for the Broad Street Line.
SEPTA said that since the start of construction, commuters using the railroad lines affected by RailWorks have taken more than 13,500 trips per weekday -- a total of 202,500 weekday trips between April 6 and April 24 -- with regional rail trains operating on time 94 percent of the time and Broad Street Line trains on time 98 percent of the time.
