SENTROL LIFESAFETY CLEARS ANTITRUST WAITING PERIOD IN ARITECH ACQUISITION

 PHILADELPHIA, Sept. 8 /PRNewswire/ -- Berwind Industries, Inc., announced today that, with respect to the previously announced agreement of its subsidiary, Sentrol Lifesafety Corporation, to acquire Aritech Corp. (Delaware) (NASDAQ-NMS: ARIT), Sentrol has received early termination of the waiting period required under the Hart-Scott-Rodino Antitrust Improvements Act of 1976, as amended, from the Federal Trade Commission as of Sept. 3, 1993.
 Under Sentrol's agreement to acquire Aritech, Aritech Acquisition Corp., a wholly owned subsidiary of Sentrol, commenced a tender offer for $6.25 cash net per share for Aritech common stock on Aug. 25, 1993. The tender offer and withdrawal rights are scheduled to expire at midnight, New York City time, on Sept. 22, 1993, unless extended.
