 SEMI-FINALISTS NAMED IN COMNET '92'S FIRST ANNUAL
 NEW PRODUCT ACHIEVEMENT AWARD COMPETITION
 FRAMINGHAM, Mass., Jan. 15 /PRNewswire/ -- World Expo Corporation today announced the 10 companies chosen as semi-finalists in the first annual New Product Achievement Award Competition for ComNet '92 (Communication Networks).
 The 10 companies named in the competition, designed to recognize outstanding new product developments, include the following: Compressions Labs, Inc. for its Rembrant II/VP; Cylink for its Fractional T1 Access Radio; International TeleManagement for its MAXM; MCI for its MCI Perspective for MCI Vision; Newbridge Networks for its Transmission Access Processor; Promptus Communications, Inc. for its OASIS 1000; Sprint for its Sprint Message Xchange for LANs; SR Systems; Tekelec for its ChameLAN 100-S; and Tellabs for its HDSL Transmission System.
 The semi-finalists were selected from entries submitted by companies exhibiting new products, product enhancements or upgrades at the show, scheduled for Jan. 27 - 31 at the Washington Convention Center in Washington, D.C.
 Voting for the semi-finalists was a panel of media representatives including David Buerger, Communications Week, Bill Laberis, Computerworld, Lee Keough, Data Communications, Patricia Schnaidt, LAN Magazine, Mary Petrosky, LAN Technology, Susan Rastellini, Networking Management, John Dix, Network World, Paula Musich, PC Week, Tom Valovic, Telecommunications and Andy Jenks, Washington Technology.
 Show attendees will select the five finalists by casting ballots after viewing a display of the semi-finalists' products in a special showcase. The winners will be announced on Jan. 29, at a 2 p.m. press conference and awarded trophies at the Exhibitor Reception at the Ramada Renaissance Techworld at 5:30 p.m.
 "The semi-finalists all have exciting new products incorporating industry-leading technology," said Robin Andreola, show manager. "Choosing the winners will be a difficult decision for our attendees."
 All attendees voting for the finalists will be eligible to win free gifts donated by exhibiting companies through a drawing scheduled for Jan. 30.
 ComNet, the industry's largest communications conference and exposisiton, will feature over 450 exhibitors, 65 conference sessions, 20 tutorials, five technical workshop sessions, the premier of the Executive Symposium, and Federal Communications Forum.
