Byline: Coleen

Dear Coleen, I BROKE up with a wonderful boy a few months ago.

I've found it really hard, but we're trying to be mates. However, when I started back at college I found he was going out with a new girlfriend.

Some of our friends are now taking sides and I feel gutted. What should I do? He still wants to be friends, but I can't stand seeing them together all the time.

Everyone is interfering and trying to give advice!

Coleen says.. FOR you, I think it's far too soon to be mates I'm afraid. It's easy for him because he's moved on and doesn't still have those feelings for you.

I've been on both sides of this dilemma and I think in time it is possible to be mates. In the meantime, tell your friends to back off and not to take sides.

And, I know it's hard but try not to be in the company of your ex and his girlfriend because it is hard to watch.

Surround yourself with real friends for now. You will feel better and someone will come into your life and you won't give your ex a second thought.
