Susquehanna No. 142 Resumes Operation During October
COOPERSTOWN, N.Y., Sept. 21 /PRNewswire/ -- Rediscover the beauty of autumn in northern New Jersey, by travelling back in time to the "golden age of railroading" aboard newly restored vintage railcars pulled by the New York, Susquehanna & Western Railway's famous hand-fired steam locomotive No. 142.
The train will be making a five-hour round-trip, every Saturday and Sunday, October 3rd through the 25th. It will leave from Butler at 10:30 a.m., Pompton Lakes at 10:40 a.m., Oakland at 10:55 a.m., Midland Park at 11:10 a.m. and Hawthorne at 11:25 a.m. There will be a one-hour stop in Newfoundland, N.J. that will provide a fantastic foliage photo opportunity as passengers enjoy cider, apples and some old-fashioned entertainment.
First class, which includes climate-controlled luxury seating and a three-course meal, is $50 per person. Coach fare is $25, $12 for children under 12. Tickets are available at Butler News & Candy Shop, Ben Franklin in Pompton Lakes, the Old Wortendyke Station in Midland Park and Tiffany's Florist in Hawthorne.
