SECRET OF MANA PC, PS4 HH HHH.
THE SNES was a golden age of gaming and Secret Of Mana was one of the highlights.
It had a revolutionary feature all of its own: drop in multiplayer for three adventurers to complete an epic quest to find and destroy the apocalyptic Mana Fortress.
Sadly, this remake is a ham-fisted modernisation of a classic.
Characterful 16-bit visuals are replaced by crude polygons, draining the original's atmosphere but more seriously screwing up the feel of combat.
Other mistakes include lost functionality in the game's ring-based menu system and a dreadful remix of the much loved soundtrack.
It might be three times as expensive, but buying the SNES Mini which includes the original Secret Of Mana is a far better option.
