SEATTLE BRIDAL EXPO: TRADITIONAL, TRENDY, FANCY OR FRUGAL; BRIDAL EXPOS OFFER TIPS, BARGAINS, GIVEAWAYS

SEATTLE, Jan. 14 /PRNewswire/ -- Near-record numbers of Americans will walk down the aisle this year, spending an average of $19,000 for their wedding, Trade Shows Northwest said today.
Whether tastes are extravagant or frugal, traditional or trendy, future spouses can find ideas and bargains at this year's major wedding show, the Seattle Bridal Expo, at Seattle Center Exhibition Hall this weekend. Seattle's event will be followed by similar expos in Bellevue and at Alderwood Mall later this month. (Editors: See final paragraph for details.)
As newlyweds-to-be make their plans, they'll be faced with dozens of decisions involving fashions, foods, florists and photographers. Future brides and grooms can ease their minds -- and in many cases, their pocketbooks -- at these one-stop shopping extravaganzas.
Along with helpful tips, Expo visitors will find giveaways, samples, and specially discounted merchandise and services at more than 100 exhibits. Play Makers Travel, one of four sponsors, is offering round-trip airfare to popular honeymoon destinations to couples who purchase advance tickets to the Bridal Expos through Ticketmaster and who attend the event together. International Jewelers Inc., another sponsor, has a free drawing for diamonds and zircons.
Fashions for the entire wedding party will be modeled during professionally produced shows and the state's largest selection of "50-percent-off" gowns will be displayed throughout the expos.
Show producers expect more than 10,000 participants at this month's events, confirming sentiments that the $32-billion-a-year wedding industry may be recession-proof.
The Bridal Expos are produced by Trade Shows Northwest. Sponsors include Headshots photo studio, International Jewelers Inc., Play Makers Travel, and Winters Men's Formal Wear.
