SEATCASE GETS NEW LAW OFF-THE-GROUND

 (PR/TV VIDEO ALERT)
 SEATCASE GETS NEW LAW OFF-THE-GROUND
The Air Carrier Access Act has just gone into effect and is designed to make travel more convenient for the handicapped. One major change prompted by the new law is that on-board wheelchairs will be required on all flights to provide assistance to restroom facilities.
Some air carriers are already installing chairs on all flights. One of the chairs being used is from Jarke-Thorsen of Austin, Texas. This innovative chair is designed for use by travelers in most modes of transportation, including hotels and other places which are not readily accessible to the handicapped.
The chair is the result of a long development process by entrepreneur Joseph Jarke who is physically handicapped. The "Seatcase" is a compact and truly portable wheelchair that is no larger than a briefcase. Extensive design help came from GE Plastics who provided the super tough Lexan polycarbonate resin used in the "Seatcase."
A VNR package is available by satellite which includes information on the Air Carrier Access Act, some of the recent compliance modifications at the nation's busiest airport in Chicago and video of the chair in use and a short interview with its inventor. Feed times are as follows:
