SEAT brings a splash of sunshine to showrooms.

Byline: By Ian Johnson

SEAT is bringing a dash of Mediterranean spirit and sunshine to showrooms this September with a range of exciting cars sure to tempt buyers.

First up, the new and highly sporty FR Series really epitomises what SEAT is all about - especially the new Leon FR. The last version accounted for a huge 40 per cent of Leon sales in the UK. With the new Leon FR, SEAT is looking to continue that success in the recently reinvigorated UK hot hatch market.

And what a car the new Leon FR is: two potent engines (200PS petrol and 170PS diesel), competition-bred suspension, sporty and progressive design and prices that can't help to attract attention. At pounds 16,995 for the two-litre T FSI FR petrol and pounds 17,495 for the two-litre TDI FR diesel and a long list of equipment as standard, these models tick all the

right boxes

The other FR model launched recently is the Altea FR. This practical hatchback, with its commodious luggage capacity, optional dual-level boot and independently sliding rear seats also turns heads with its sharp looks and distinctive 17" alloy wheels. Using the same punchy engines found in the Leon FR, the Altea FR is the car for the family man or woman in a hurry.

The top-selling Ibiza is always a favourite in the highly competitive supermini arena. With sporty looks, top build quality, great dynamics, impressive practicality and a total of three What Car? magazine Supermini of the Year awards under its belt, the Ibiza has the credentials to succeed.

And with prices starting at just pounds 7,545 for the 1.2 Reference, rising to a top-value pounds 11,975 for the 1.8 20V T 150PS Ibiza FR, for example, each Ibiza clearly puts the emphasis on attainability.

So that's the sleek Leon, Altea and Ibiza. What else has SEAT to offer? Well, there's the distinctive and futuristic Toledo family car, serving up a much more exciting and eye-catching design than is usually found in its market.

With a colossal boot capacity, a range of advanced engines and a high value specification, this sassy Spaniard is guaranteed to get you attention. Prices start at just pounds 12,665 on the road.

The large Alhambra MPV is for big families with big demands and as such boasts seating capacity for seven. With a new two-litre TDI 140PS TDI diesel engine, smart looks and the highest loyalty rate in its sector, the Alhambra is a sensible yet sporty choice.

The range kicks off at just pounds 16,625 on the road and all Alhambras come with a high level of specification as standard.
