SEARS REPORTS FEBRUARY REVENUES CHICAGO, March 5 /PRNewswire/ -- Sears Merchandise Group today said
total domestic store sales, excluding direct marketing and finance charges, for the reporting period rose 9.8 percent to $1.48 billion. Comparable domestic store sales rose 8.9 percent. Gross revenues for the four weeks ended Feb. 29 rose 3.3 percent to $2.19 billion.
For the month of February, which included the leap year sales day, total domestic store sales rose 17.4 percent to $1.54 billion. Edward A. Brennan, Sears chairman and chief executive officer, said that sales in all six business categories registered strong increases, but total international revenues, direct marketing, and finance charges were down for the reporting period.
