SEARS CONDUCTS APPAREL AD REVIEW

 HOFFMAN ESTATES, Ill., Jan. 22 /PRNewswire/ -- Sears Merchandise Group today announced it has retained Morgan Anderson & Co., New York City, to conduct a review of its apparel advertising and identify advertising agencies to make presentations for the business.
 "We have a great women's, men's and children's apparel story to tell and we want to make certain that we have the best marketing strategy and creative to tell our fashion story," said Matt Howard, Sears senior vice president of marketing. "Our goal is to select an agency by May and unveil a new apparel campaign this fall.
 "We have been gaining market share over the past several months in many businesses including many of our apparel lines," Howard said. "We want to continue that growth and carry the momentum into other apparel lines."
 Sears said its current agency, Ogilvy & Mather/Chicago (O&M), will be included in the agency review. "O&M developed our successful You Can Count On Me' campaign over a year ago. Our recent sales trends have been encouraging. We are pleased with the relationship and value their work. Periodic reviews of our advertising make good business sense and provide the opportunity for multiple perspectives on an apparel campaign," Howard said.
 O&M will continue to be Sears' agency for all other merchandise categories.
