SEAGRAM APPOINTS JOHN PRESTON EXECUTIVE VICE PRESIDENT OF ITS SPIRITS AND WINE GROUP

 NEW YORK, Nov. 19 ~PRNewswire~ -- The Seagram Spirits And Wine Group today announced the appointment of John R. Preston as executive vice president, staff operations, reporting to Edward F. McDonnell, president of The Seagram Spirits And Wine Group.
 Mr. Preston, currently treasurer of The Seagram Company Ltd., will be responsible for the finance, business planning, human resource and worldwide production functions for this $5 billion operation. He will replace Steven J. Kalagher on Feb. 1, 1993, who will be promoted to president of The House of Seagram.
 "We are pleased to have a person with John's business background join our group. With John's experience in The Seagram Company Ltd., he will provide an essential link between our group and corporate finance and serve as a key team player to achieve our strategic objectives," said Mr. McDonnell.
 Mr. Preston joined Seagram in 1981 as manager, international planning & analysis and later served as executive vice president, finance and administration for The Seagram Beverage Company. He was closely involved in the introduction of Seagram's Coolers.
 The Seagram Spirits And Wine Group has global responsibility for all production, brand management and marketing, sales and distribution of The Seagram Company Ltd.'s beverage alcohol brands. It consists of affiliates and joint ventures in 34 countries. The group produces and markets such brands as Chivas Regal, Royal Salute and The Glenlivet Scotch Whiskies, Crown Royal and Seagram's V.O.
