SEAFAIR ISSUES CHANGES: 1992 SEAFAIR FLEET ARRIVAL
SEATTLE, July 27 /PRNewswire/ -- The U.S. Navy and SEAFAIR announced

two changes to this year's Fleet Arrival scheduled for Wednesday, July 29, through Monday, Aug. 3, along Seattle's Waterfront. (1) The Flagship, USS Nimitz, will now berth at Terminal 18 on Harbor Island instead of the previously announced Pier 46. (2) Due to construction currently underway, ships berthed at Pier 90 will not be accessible for open public touring.
The annual arrival of the SEAFAIR Fleet to Seattle's waterfront is a highlight of the festival. The fleet, consisting of U.S. Navy and Coast Guard ships, will arrive Wednesday midday. It is an inspiring sight as these magnificent ships steam into Elliott Bay to join the celebration of the final week of SEAFAIR in Seattle. The visiting fleet carries over 7,000 sailors and marines.
Free guided tours are offered to the public Thursday through Sunday, from 1 to 4 p.m. each day (except the ships at Pier 90). People interested in taking a tour on any of the other visiting ships should arrive at the appropriate dock early as long lines are expected. Ships' personnel will serve as guides.
The popular "Host-A-Sailor" program begins this Monday, July 27, when phone lines open to take calls offering visiting sailors invitations for a home-cooked meal, backyard barbecue, game of golf or other outing. The Host-A-Sailor phone numbers are: 206-223-0076 or 206-223-0077.
