SEA age-group swim under way.

The 42nd Southeast Asian Age Group Swimming Championships get going today at the Trace Aquatic Center with the region's leading and rising junior swimmers vying for top honors in various divisions in Los Banos, Laguna.

At least 400 age-groupers, coaches and officials from Brunei, Indonesia, Malaysia, Myanmar, Singapore, Thailand, Vietnam, Laos, Timor-Leste, Cambodia and the host country are taking part in the three-day competition organized by the Philippine Swimming Inc.

This marks the second time in 42 years that the country is hosting the event serving as the stepping stone to major international competitions, including the SEA Games, the Asian Games, the Youth Olympic Games, the Asian Indoor Games and the FINA World Swimming Championships.

Backers of the event are Philippine Sports Commission, FINIS, Boysen Paints, Enoc Lubricants, Arena, Wilcon Depot, Oh So Healthy Snacks, Orocan, Club30 Plus Golf, Tajima Flooring, Innoland Development, Twin Oaks-Sucere Foods, Vics Construction, Summit Natural Drinking Water, Lil Kiks Merchandise, Wengman Sports Apparel and COL Financial.
