SEA WORLD OF FLORIDA PREMIERES TWO MAJOR NEW ATTRACTIONS
ORLANDO, Fla., May 22 /PRNewswire/ -- Today, Sea World of Florida premiered two new attractions just in time for the summer season -- "Mission: Bermuda Triangle" and "Shamu's Happy Harbor." Celebrity Robert Stack, host of the popular NBC television series, "Unsolved Mysteries," assisted Bill Davis, vice president and general manager of the Orlando-based marine life park, with the opening ceremonies.
"Providing unique experiences and windows to the undersea world are everyday happenings at Sea World of Florida," said Davis. "The opening of both new attractions continues this tradition, and adds to the quality entertainment families have come to expect from this and the other Anheuser-Busch Theme Parks."
"Mission: Bermuda Triangle" will take guests on a thrilling scientific expedition to the Bermuda Triangle. The attraction combines Sea World's marine expertise with a high-definition adventure film, including real underwater footage, and high-powered flight simulator technology. Travellers will encounter rare marine life and experience, firsthand, the excitement, hazards and exhilaration of undersea exploration of one of the world's most intriguing phenomena, the Bermuda Triangle.
Visitors to the attraction find themselves aboard one of three scientific research vessels, the "Neptune," "Barracuda" or "Skipjack." Their assignment is to investigate one of the Triangle's deepest trenches in hopes of explaining many of the anomalies and abyssal mysteries associated with the area.
Going from Bermuda to the Caribbean, families can play together at "Shamu's Happy Harbor," a new, "kid-tested-tough" fun spot with a colorful tropical theme. The three-acre site features numerous challenging play elements, including a four-story net climb, vinyl mountain, a get-wet water maze, a schooner funship, sand play area, and other crawlable, climbable, explorable places!
Designed especially with children's energy and activity levels in mind, "Shamu's Happy Harbor" is physically challenging, as well as stimulating for those with young imaginations.
The introduction of these new attractions and two new restaurants, Buccaneer Barbecue and Mango Joe's, as well as the opening of the Anheuser-Busch Hospitality Center and Clydesdale Hamlet in March, marks the largest expansion in the park's 19-year history. It also tells of parent company Anheuser-Busch's strong commitment to Sea World and to family entertainment.
Sea World of Florida is one of the Anheuser-Busch Theme Parks, which include Sea World parks in San Diego; San Antonio, Texas; and Aurora, Ohio; the Busch Gardens theme parks in Tampa, Fla.; and Williamsburg, Va.; Cypress Gardens in Winter Haven, Fla.; Adventure Island in Tampa; and Sesame Place in Langhorne, Pa. The nine parks employ 15,000 people nationwide.
