SCT SIGNS DALLAS COUNTY TO A $35 MILLION, SEVEN-YEAR CONTRACT
MALVERN, Pa., Nov. 6 /PRNewswire/ -- Systems & Computer Technology Corp. (NASDAQ: SCTC) (SCT) announced today that it has signed Dallas County, Texas, to a seven-year, $35 million contract for the company's OnSite services.
It is the largest local government contract in the company's 24-year history.
SCT's Information Resource Management (IRM) group will provide OnSite services -- the operation and management of a jurisdiction's computing systems -- to Dallas County which serves over 1.85 million citizens. "SCT pioneered the concept of privatization in the computing management field for local government and higher education," said Michael J. Emmi, SCT's chairman and chief executive officer. "As a result of our nearly quarter century of experience, we can provide Dallas County with innovative, yet cost-effective, management of their computing systems. Over the life of the contract, the county should realize savings of 15 percent-20 percent from their current expenditures."
"We are very excited about our new partnership with SCT, which will benefit all of Dallas County's citizens," said Dallas County Judge Lee Jackson. "Through SCT's management, we can better serve the public with greater efficiency and increased productivity of the county's services. And the cost savings will assist the county in holding the line on its tax burdens."
All county employees who have worked in the Data Services Department have been offered employment by SCT. SCT assumed the management of Dallas County's computing systems on Nov. 4.
SCT is a leading provider of applications software and information management services for government jurisdictions, higher education institutions and utilities nationwide. The company is headquartered at 4 Country View Road, Malvern.
