Includes three daily newspapers in California acquired in the fourth quarter of 1992. (Excluding both the acquired and divested newspapers, for the month advertising revenues increased 13.4 percent and full run ROP inches increased 5.7 percent; the YTD changes were: advertising revenues, +4.9 percent; inches, +1.4 percent.)
 (D) -- Political advertising for October was $.7 million in 1993 and $5.0 million in 1992; YTD was $.8 million in 1993 and $7.5 million in 1992.
 (E) -- Divested operations includes the Tulare Advance Register, The Pittsburgh Press, book publishing, television listings, the radio stations, and WMC-TV.
