BERWICK Rangers boss Jimmy Crease has been boosted with the news Shielfield old boy Damon Gray is back at the club, writes MATT LESLIE.

Gray, who has been playing his football in Sweden of late, was training with the club after returning following the end of his contract in Scandinavia.

The former Newcastle, Hibs and Partick striker featured for Berwick last season banging in 11 goal in 31 appearances before his brief spell with Swedish side Ostersunds FK.

As soon as international clearance comes through - which may not be in time for today's clash against Annan Athletic - Gray will be available to Crease to hopefully arrest Berwick's recent disappointing form.

A delighted Crease said: "Damon has been training with us recently and is keen to play for us again.

"He had been playing in Sweden on a full-time basis, but his contract ended before Christmas and now he is back in Scotland again.

"We have been struggling for goals and when he signs for us he will give us another option up front."

However, one player who will not be pulling on a Wee Gers shirt again is midfielder Kevin Motion, who has broken his contract deal a day after signing it.

The player featured as a triallist in last weekend's 1-0 defeat to East Stirlingshire and signed for the club after the game.

However, in an astonishing about-turn, Motion stunned the club by demanding to be released from his contract.

Crease added: "I could not believe it.

Kevin signed for us after the East Stirlingshire game and the registration papers were sent away.

"He even came back to my pub on the Saturday night for a drink, so you could imagine my surprise when he rang me on Sunday night to ask us to rip up the papers." Motion has since gone on to sign for Alloa Athletic.
