SCORPIONS HIGHLIGHT MORGAN CREEK SOUNDTRACK FOR 'FREEJACK' ROCK'N'ROLL, ALTERNATIVE, METAL, GRUNGE! LOS ANGELES, Jan. 2 /PRNewswire/ -- Multi-platinum recording artists Scorpions contribute the lead single for the soundtrack album for the movie "Freejack," which opens in January and stars Emilio Estevez, Mick Jagger, Anthony Hopkins, and Renee Russo. The single and video, which is presently being worked at AOR and CHR radio formats is entitled "Hit Between The Eyes." The album, targeting rock'n'roll in its most metallic and alternative permutations, will released in late January on Morgan Creek Records. Other artists whose songs appear on the "Freejack" soundtrack are (in alphabetical order) Jane Child, Cinderella, Eleven, Jesus Jones, Jesus & Mary Chain, Little Feat, Ministry and 2 Die 4. The score was composed and performed by Trevor Jones. Executive producers of the soundtrack are James G. Robinson, Jim Mazza and David Kershenbaum. Gary Goetzman (who most recently worked on Wim Wenders' "Until The End Of The World") served as music consultant. A futuristic action adventure, "Freejack" was filmed in Atlanta and New York with a screenplay by Ron Shusett (creator of "Alien" and "Total Recall") and Dan Gilroy. Geoff Murphy, who won praise for his work in Morgan Creek's "Young Guns II," directed, and the producer is Stuart Oken. Morgan Creek's James G. Robinson, Gary Barber and David Nicksay are executive producers. "Freejack" focuses on a young race car driver who is snatched from the clutches of death only to find himself lost 20 years in the future, and a pawn in a bizarre plot. Bewildered by a complex array of super high-tech gadgets and weaponry, he is pursued by a new breed of 21st Century bounty hunters. Joe Alves, the award-winning designer of "Close Encounters Of The Third Kind" and "Jaws," has created the metropolitan city-of-the- future in which "Freejack" takes place. Morgan Creek Records' most recent soundtrack album -- "Robin Hood: Prince Of Thieves" -- certified double platinum worldwide. It also spawned the 10-million-selling Bryan Adams song, "(Everything I Do) I Do It For You," which placed No.1 in 20 nations, setting new records for longevity at No. 1 in the United States and the U.K. NOTE: For information on the film "Freejack," contact Ronni Chasen of Chasen & Associates - 310-551-9750. -0- 1/2/92 /CONTACT: Cary Baker of Morgan Creek Records, 310-551-9781/ CO: Morgan Creek Records ST: California IN: ENT SU:
