 SCEcorp ELECTS BRYANT DANNER OF LATHAM & WATKINS
 AS SENIOR VICE PRESIDENT AND GENERAL COUNSEL
 ROSEMEAD, Calif., May 21 /PRNewswire/ -- Bryant Danner, 54, has been elected senior vice president and general counsel of SCEcorp (NYSE: SCE) and its utility subsidiary, Southern California Edison Co., effective July 1.
 He will succeed David N. Barry III, 64, who is retiring from SCEcorp and Edison after a 40-year career with the company's law department. Barry has been vice president and general counsel since 1989.
 Danner currently is a partner in the Los Angeles office of the Latham & Watkins law firm, where he has practiced law since 1963.
 He has spent much of his career in the corporate, litigation, insurance and regulatory practice areas. For the last 12 years, he has specialized in environmental law, with a broad range of work in air pollution control, hazardous waste management, Superfund clean up projects and water quality matters. In 1988-89, he was chair of the Environmental Law Section of the Los Angeles County Bar Association.
 In addition to his legal practice at Latham & Watkins, Danner has been heavily involved in various aspects of the firm's management, including chairmanship of the committees responsible for recruiting, associate training and compensation, business development and automation.
 Danner is a native of Boston. He graduated from Harvard College, where he majored in government. He received his law degree from Harvard Law School. He and his wife Judi live in La Canada-Flintridge, Calif. Their daughter, Debra, practices law in Chicago.
