SCANTASTIC PREVIEW AT WANAMAKERS -- CULINARY DEMONSTRATIONS AND SAMPLING ARE SCHEDULED FOR WEDNESDAY, APRIL 28

 PHILADELPHIA, April 26 /PRNewswire/ -- Some of Philadelphia's premier chefs will show off their culinary artistry in the Grand Court at Wanamakers, Center City, throughout the day on Wednesday, April 28.
 The free food demonstrations and sampling will be a tasty preview of the gourmet delights which will be served by 100 of the city's top restaurants and caterers at SCANTASTIC, an evening of food, fun and all that jazz (live jazz, that is) on Friday, April 30. This year marks the eighth annual SCANTASTIC, which benefits the child abuse prevention and treatment activities of SCAN (Stop Child Abuse Now).
 Following is a schedule of the SCANTASTIC preview culinary demonstrations:
 WANAMAKERS -- CENTER CITY -- GRAND COURT
 Wednesday, April 28, 10 a.m. -- 7 p.m.
 10-11 a.m. -- PQs Gourmet Coffees: Special coffees served to
 shoppers.
 noon-12:45 p.m. -- Le Bec Fin: Dessert Demonstration.
 1-1:30 p.m. -- Country Club Restaurant & Pastry Shop: Dessert
 Demonstration.
 1:45-2:15 p.m. -- Ann Hazan, cooking instructor and author of "The
 Original Philadelphia Neighborhood Cookbook" and
 "The Original Baltimore Neighborhood Cookbook":
 Spring and Summer Salad Demonstration.
 2-3 p.m. -- Ruth's Chris Steak House: Cooking Demonstration.
 5-5:30 p.m. -- Breadsmith: Breadmaking Demonstration.
 6-7 p.m. -- Feast Your Eyes Catering: Cooking Demonstration.
 SCANTASTIC will be held on Friday, April 30, from 6 p.m. to midnight at Memorial Hall, Fairmount Park West. Tickets for the evening are $100 per person, or $75 each in groups of 10 or more. All proceeds benefit SCAN. For ticket information, call 215-896-7588.
