SCANNING MANAGEMENT SYSTEMS INTRODUCES
RETAIL INDUSTRY ENHANCEMENT FOR NCR 2126 USERS
CANOGA PARK, Calif., Nov. 19 /PRNewswire/ -- Scanning Management Systems ("SCANNING"), today introduced the Passive Responder, a new product enhancement developed exclusively for NCR 2126 point-of-sale users in the retail industry.
SCANNING's "no manual intervention" Passive Responder, which is the only product of its kind on the market, eliminates the requirement to use a cassette tape or floppy disk in the NCR 2126 when enabling data collect for passing data to a passive data collection system. Now, tape or disk fill-ups that bring the POS system to a halt, are a thing of the past. And with SCANNING's Passive Responder, users maintain control and can operate their EFT programs, electronic couponing and frequent-buyer programs, transparent to the 2126 system.
"While we are very well known for our POS PLUS(TM) supermarket industry products, this is the first time we have designed and developed a product that is applicable to virtually any segment of the retail industry," said Robert J. Hammer, SCANNING executive vice president. "Typical users for our new Passive Responder are drugstores, supermarkets, convenience stores and the myriad of specialty stores throughout the country, the only commonality being they must be operating NCR 2126 POS systems."
To promote immediate sales of their Passive Responder, SCANNING is offering users a special introductory pricing offer. Under one or two options, the Passive Responder may be purchased as a stand-alone product at a 25 percent discount, or bundled with SCANNING's Passive Interface Board at a 15 percent discount. Volume purchase discounts are also available on the introductory offer.
Delivery for either the stand-alone Responder or the bundled package is 60 days after receipt of the customer's order (ARO).
