SC Magazine Selects Datakey's SignaSURE NC as 'The Pick of 1998'.

MINNEAPOLIS, Jan. 5 /PRNewswire/ -- Datakey, Inc. (Nasdaq: DKEY), a Minneapolis-based provider of information security systems, was notified by SC Magazine, a leading publication for information security news, that its SignaSURE(TM) NC product received "The Pick of 1998" award in the access control category of their Buyers' Bible - 1999. SignaSURE NC is a client-based information security solution that integrates Datakey cryptographic smart cards with the Netscape Communicator software package. The product adds a higher level of security to Netscape Communicator's secure e-mail, SSL-based secure web sessions, Java applet and form signing through Datakey's smart card-based information security solution.

In the August 1998 issue of SC Magazine, Datakey's SignaSURE NC was given the coveted "five star" overall rating as well as a five star rating for product features, ease of use for the professional, technical support, product performance, and value for the money. As a result of this August 1998 "five star" rating, SignaSURE NC became a contender for "The Pick of 1998."

SignaSURE CIP Plus is a complete solution with integrated Netscape Communicator, Microsoft Internet Explorer, and Datakey's cryptographic interface provider (CIP) software.
