SBTA launches drive to collect blood for injured of Mastung tragedy.
KARACHI -- Sindh Blood Transfusion Authority (SBTA) Secretary, Dr Zahid Ansari on Saturday urged blood banks to arrange 1000 blood bags for Mastung blast injured. Ansari said some officials of Health Department Balochistan had approached SBTA for provision of fresh blood on urgent basis after which all the heads of private and government blood banks had been directed to arrange blood bags for the injured. He said heads of registered blood banks had been directed to organize blood camps in their own premises to collect blood bags.
He said each blood bank had been tasked to collect 100 blood bags and authority would dispatch blood to Quetta. He said Mastung blast injured were under treatment at Civil Hospital Quetta and other hospitals. He said collected blood bags would be dispatched to Quetta by air within 48 hours. Dr Ansari also appealed to the citizens of Karachi to donate blood at nearby blood banks to save precious lives.
