SAVANNAH ELECTRIC DIRECTORS ELECT OFFICERS

 SAVANNAH, Ga., Dec. 6 /PRNewswire/ -- At their board meeting on Nov. 18, the directors of Savannah Electric and Power Company elected Kirby R. Willis vice president and chief financial officer and Lavonne K. Calandra corporate secretary.
 Both promotions are effective Jan. 1 following the retirements of Olin Veale and Grace Arnold, who currently hold the positions.
 A graduate of Catawba College, Willis began his Savannah Electric career in 1978 as controller.
 He was named treasurer, controller and assistant secretary in 1991.
 Willis serves on the board of directors and is past treasurer of The American Red Cross. He is also past president of The National Association of Accountants, Savannah Chapter. He and his wife, Diane, have two children.
 Calandra joined Savannah Electric in 1958 as a secretary in the Sales and Executive Departments. She was named administrative assistant in the Executive Department in 1981 and was promoted to assistant to the president in 1989. In addition to her new responsibilities as corporate secretary, she will continue to serve as assistant to the president.
 Calandra is a graduate of Draughon's Business College and the Public Utility Management Course at the University of Georgia sponsored by the Southeast Electric Exchange. She and her husband, Tony, have two sons and three grandchildren.
