SATURN TO EXPORT TO TAIWAN

 SATURN TO EXPORT TO TAIWAN
CHICAGO, Feb. 6 /PRNewswire/ -- Saturn today announced it will begin

exporting cars to Taiwan later this year.
"Saturn is committed to becoming a worldwide competitor in the automotive industry," said Donald W. Hudler, vice president of sales, service and marketing. "With Saturn's proven track record in the U.S. of exceeding customer expectations, and the expanding market potential in Taiwan, we are confident we can compete successfully with foreign automakers in Asia."
General Motors of Taiwan will import Saturn vehicles in Taiwan. The 1992 Saturn SL1 and SL2 sedans and the SC coupe will be available for sale in Taiwan.
"Saturn is reaching its target market -- people who own or intend to purchase a non-General Motors product, especially a Japanese import," added Hudler. "So we are confident our vehicles will appeal to buyers in the Taiwan market which is currently dominated by Japanese design."
Currently, Saturn sedans and coupes are sold in the United States and in Canada. Through January, U.S. retailers have delivered more than 86,000 cars. In addition, some 2,500 cars have been delivered through the Saturn/Saab Isuzu network in Canada in the past four months.
Saturn previously announced plans to distribute vehicles in Japan by the mid-1990s.
