24: Redemption

Sky 1, 10.00pm

FANTASTIC - Jack is back.

After missing a year of 24 due to a writers' strike, we are about to get a new series of the hit show early next year.

So to make up for the absence, and set the scene for the new series, here is a one-off, two-hour edition, shot in real time as usual, of 24.

Kiefer Sutherland's Jack Bauer teams up with Robert Carlyle and heads off to Africa to take a break from the trauma of the last series' events. But things don't go to plan and he ends up going head to head with an African warlord.

Coming To America

Sky Movies Comedy, 8.00pm

ONE of Eddie Murphy's finest comic moments, and a reminder that when he is on form (Trading Places, I Spy, Beverly Hills Cop 1 and 2), he is superb.

He plays Akeem, an African prince who is set to enter an arranged marriage. But wanting a free spirit for a wife, he and his assistant (the equally funny Arsenio Hall) head to New York to find a bride.

Great fun put together by director John Landis.

Live Premier League Football

Setanta Sports 1, 7.00pm

WIGAN'S Amir Zaki has been the surprise of the Premiership this year, and has been banging goals.

The Egyptian striker's partnership with Emile Heskey has been working well, but they will both have their work cut out against a well-organised Everton defence.

The Merseysiders' front men have also been a menace, with Louis Saha finally coming good, and Yakubu always a danger.

Should be goals galore...

Hollyoaks Later

E4, 10.00pm

FROM Monday to Friday, five daring hour-long episodes of Hollyoaks Later sees Guy Burnet return as Craig Dean alongside many of the regular Hollyoaks characters and one or two new faces.

The later time slot provides the opportunity for more daring storylines and a chance to explore the characters further.

In tonight's episode, in an attempt to take her mind off recent events, Craig whisks Steph off on holiday to Scotland.

Niall arrives back in Chester and with the McQueens no longer his target, seems intent on making Steph his next victim.

The Closer

More 4, 12.05am

THE bodies of two women are discovered. Each murder features the hallmarks of a well-known serial killer, who murders three times, branding his victims in the order they are killed.

So the team are up against the clock as they comb the beachfront in order to save another woman's life.

Meanwhile, Brenda learns her preliminary diagnosis, which results in a surprising response from Fritz.
