SATELLITE PICK OF THE DAY.

Studio 60 on the Sunset Strip

More 4, 10.00pm

MATTHEW PERRY is the star in this new comedy-drama brought to us by the creators of the West Wing.

The show takes place behind the scenes of a late-night comedy show, in a world of backstage politics and romances.

In this pilot episode, new network president Jordan inherits a PR disaster when the producer has a meltdown on air, forcing her to bring back two former employees - one of whom is Perry - to steady the ship.

A Clockwork Orange

Film Four, 10.50pm

WATCHING Stanley Kubrick's violence-laden drama still feels like a guilty pleasure given the fact it was banned for decades.

But there's a lot more to it than mere comic-book brutality, as the film has plenty to say about the way we deal with the criminal elements of society.

Malcolm McDowell stars as the self-styled leader of the Droogs in a role which Mick Jagger was once considered for. As you watch the film you'll be glad he didn't land the part.

Atom

BBC Four, 9.00pm

AS part of the BBC's Science You Can't See season, nuclear physicist Jim Al-Khalili presents the story of the discovery of the electron.

He begins by taking a look at the scientists who were forced to change their beliefs when its existence came to light, and also explores the suicide of Ludwig Boltzmann, who was one of the most influential professors in the field.

Katie and Peter: The Baby Diaries

ITV2, 9.00pm

THIS couple's life together has never been a particularly private affair.

However, this series following them as they prepare for the birth of their youngest child, gives Katie and Peter fans just that little something extra.

In this last episode of the series, Katie goes to a psychotherapist to try to allay her fear of needles and Peter's parents arrive from Cyprus as the due date looms.

Scrubs

E4, 9.00pm

WHILE Scrubs is an under-rated comedy, its insistence on having a moral lesson at the heart of every episode is a bit grating.

Tonight, Carla is feeling down since becoming a mum. Help comes from heavily pregnant and hormone-driven Jordan.

Dodgeball

Film Four, 9.00pm

VINCE VAUGHN stars as Peter LaFleur, the owner of Average Joe's gym, who is fighting off being bought over by rival White Goodman's Globo Gym corporation.

With a lack of financial backing or knowledge, things don't look good for Peter as Goodman (Ben Stiller) moves in.

That is until they come up with a plan ... to enter a national dodgeball competition whose prize money is enough to ensure their gym is not shut down.
