SATEL-LIGHT IMAGE; Nasa snap shows who's burning the midnight oil.

THIS stunning image of Wales at night was taken by US space agency Nasa's satellite.

On it you can clearly see the brightly lit North Wales coastal strip, the route of the A55 from Flintshire right through to Holyhead, and the off-shore Gwynt y Mor windfarm.

Blaenau Ffestiniog on the edge of the Snowdonia National Park is a beacon of light against a reassuringly dark hinterland.

Also clearly seen is a mass of bright light emanating from across the border in England.

The Nasa picture was captured on June 15 as part of a project to get a clear shot of every parcel of Earth''s land surface and islands.

This new data was then mapped over existing Blue Marble imagery of Earth to provide a realistic view of the planet.
