SANYO AND TI REACH SEMICONDUCTOR LICENSE AGREEMENT AND WILL DISMISS LAWSUITS

 SAN FRANCISCO, Nov. 23 ~PRNewswire~ -- Sanyo Electric Co. Ltd. and Texas Instruments Inc. (TI) (NYSE: TXN) today announced they have signed a worldwide patent cross-license agreement covering semiconductor technology. As a result, Sanyo will dismiss its antitrust action against TI in U.S. District Court in San Francisco, and TI will dismiss its patent infringement action against Sanyo in U.S. District Court in Dallas.
 The new agreement excludes the Kilby '275 patent, and both parties retain the ability to pursue their rights in Japan concerning the patent.
 During the term of the agreement, TI will receive royalty payments based on Sanyo's worldwide sales of semiconductors. The new agreement runs until November 30, 1996.
