SANIFILL ELECTS RALPH F. COX TO BOARD OF DIRECTORS

 HOUSTON, Oct. 5 /PRNewswire/ -- Sanifill, Inc. (NYSE: FIL) announced today that Ralph F. Cox has been elected to the board of directors, filling a vacancy on the board.
 "Ralph Cox brings a wealth of operating experience to Sanifill's board which will be valuable to the company's management as it pursues its growth strategy," said Lorne D. Bain, chairman and CEO of Sanifill, Inc. "Ralph is widely respected in the oil and gas industry and will be very helpful as Sanifill pursues its nonhazardous oilfield waste treatment business. He will also contribute his extensive experience in environmental service company matters a a result of his association with a major national engineering company."
 Cox graduated from Texas A&M University in 1954 with Bachelor of Science Degrees in Petroleum Engineering and Mechanical Engineering. His career with the Atlantic Richfield Company spanned 31 years and included various domestic and international engineering and operating assignments. In 1977, he became president of the Anaconda Company, a subsidiary of ARCO, and was elected to the ARCO board in 1978. In 1984 he assumed responsibility for ARCO's worldwide petroleum exploration and production and its minerals exploration and production activities, and in 1985 was elected vice chairman of ARCO.
 Cox took early retirement from ARCO, and became president and chief of operating officer of Union Pacific Resources Company, whose activities included oil and gas exploration and production, petroleum refining and marketing, and petrochemicals and minerals operations. In 1990, after completing a reorganization of Union Pacific Resources, Cox became president of Greenhill Petroleum Corporation, a subsidiary of the Western Mining Corporation of Australia, engaged in petroleum exploration and production in North America.
 Cox is a trustee of the Fidelity Funds, Boston, and served for 11 years on the board of CH2M Hill, an environmental engineering firm. He also serves on the Texas State Chamber of Commerce Board, as well as advisory boards of Texas A&M University and the University of Texas.
 Sanifill, Inc., headquartered in Houston, Texas, is an environmental services company specializing in the management and disposal of nonhazardous waste.
