SANCTUARY WOODS RELEASES 'THE LAST DINOSAUR EGG'

SAN MATEO, Calif., June 17 /PRNewswire/ -- Sanctuary Woods, a leading developer of family oriented CD-ROM titles today announced the release of "The Last Dinosaur Egg."
"Dinosaurs are the hottest subject for movies, books and other mediums this summer," states Scott Walchek, president, chief operating officer, Sanctuary Woods. "In this second interactive installment of "The Awesome Adventures of Victor Vector and Yondo," we've gone to great lengths to provide the most accurate and up-to-date information on the dinosaurs and their surroundings."
The digitized duo are back on the Mac to embark on another mission for the curators of the 22nd century Museum of Fantastic Phenomena. As one of the museum's archivists in the Macintosh CD-ROM adventure, you guides your field agents, Victor Vector and Yondo, deep into the past to recover an egg from one of the last surviving and most evolved dinosaurs, the Tyrannosaurus Rex.
"The Last Dinosaur Egg" takes full advantage of the CD-ROM format by presenting more than 100 hand-painted backgrounds and animated characters. To enhance the visuals, the programmers have also taken advantage of the CD-ROM's capacity to store video clips and digitized the sound effects, and original music.
Retrieving an egg isn't as simple as loading the prehistoric object into the "time machine" and returning to the 22nd century. First, Victor Vector and Yondo will have to travel from the 22nd century to the Precambrian era and then to the Cretaceous era. They'll even need to enlist the help of a dinosaur to carry them back. It'll be tough, but a successful mission may mean saving dinosaurs from extinction.
"The Last Dinosaur Egg" will be distributed through Electronic Arts Distribution in North America for a suggested retail price of $59.95. In addition, the company is scheduled to release "The Last Dinosaur Egg" on the MPC (IBM multimedia PC) platform in July.
Founded in 1988, Sanctuary Woods is a leading developer of interactive education and entertainment titles on CD-ROM. The company is an affiliated label of Electronic Arts and a 3DO developer.
