SAN DIEGO CHILDREN'S HOSPITAL DEBUTS NEW HOLIDAY ALBUM

SAN DIEGO, Dec. 2 /PRNewswire/ -- The wonder and excitement of the holidays -- that is the spirit captured in San Diego Children's Hospital's classic benefit holiday album -- "Share the Wonder."
Michael Lloyd, a Grammy award-winning record producer, has enlisted more than 30 of America's best-loved recording artists to produce an outstanding collection of original and classic holiday music including Paul McCartney singing "Wonderful Christmastime," country superstars Willie Nelson contributing "Pretty Paper" and Dwight Yoakum adding "Santa Claus is Back in Town," Dionne Warwick's beautiful rendition of "O Holy Night," and stars Barry Manilow, Belinda Carlisle, Lou Rawls, and Melissa Manchester contributing other holiday favorites.
Hollywood legend Jimmy Stewart adds to the non-musical aspects of the album with his presentation of "A Christmas Reading." In addition, Earvin "Magic" Johnson and James Earl Jones team up to narrate "'Twas the Night Before Christmas."
"Golden oldies" rockers Johnny Tillotson, Freddy "Boom Boom" Cannon, and Brian Hyland perform "Hark the Herald Angels Sing."
The album is now in the children's department of all Nordstrom stores nationwide. Proceeds benefit patients at Children's Hospital-San Diego and other hospitals for children across the United States and Canada.
According to Children's Hospital Spokesman Mark Morelli, this is the fifth year a Christmas benefit album has been produced by the San Diego Children's Hospital Foundation, the only hospital in the country that produces an album of this caliber.
Star System Inc., the largest regional automated teller machine network in the country, generously underwrote production costs for the album. Income earned will go directly to fund pediatric medical programs at the hospital.
Of course, it takes the expertise of Michael Lloyd to pull all this talent together and produce a great album. Lloyd, who has more than 100 gold and platinum records to his credit, including the soundtrack from the film "Dirty Dancing," joins Children's Hospital for the fourth year as executive producer.
"We have made recordings rich in the Christmas tradition that focus on children and giving," said Lloyd. "The music has a way of bringing people's emotions to the surface and helping them remember that kids are our legacy for the future."
"Share the Wonder" sells for $8.95 on cassette and $12.95 on compact disc in the children's department of Nordstrom stores nationwide.
