SAM RUBIN OF KTLA 'MORNING NEWS' HOSTS A CHANNEL 5 PRIME TIME 'SALUTE TO CHEERS' AIRING MONDAY, MAY 17, THROUGH WEDNESDAY, MAY 19, FROM 8-10 P.M.

 LOS ANGELES, May 13 /PRNewswire/ -- As the network production of one of television's favorite comedies comes to a close, KTLA/Channel 5 presents a special 3-night prime time tribute to "Cheers," hosted by KTLA Morning News entertainment reporter Sam Rubin.
 "A Salute to Cheers," featuring a night of firsts, a night of favorites and a night of the finest Emmy-winning episodes of "Cheers," including a look at the series' history, "Cheers" trivia, and a behind-the-scenes peek at the taping of the final episode, will air Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday, May 17, 18 and 19, from 8-10 p.m.
 Monday, May 17, will feature a night of firsts: the series pilot, followed by Woody Harrelson's debut, the first episode with Kelsey Grammer, and finally, the episode introducing Kirstie Alley.
 Tuesday, May 18, spotlights "The Favorites." Rubin continues the tribute, featuring the favorite episodes of series' stars: Shelley Long, Kirstie Alley and Rhea Perlman, George Wendt and Ted Danson.
 The tribute concludes on Wednesday, May 19, with "the finest": the series' four episodes the earned Emmys for Outstanding Comedy in 1983, 1984, 1989 and 1991. In addition, KTLA will air the special one-hour retrospective commemorating the show's 200th episode on Thursday, May 20, from 9 to 10 p.m., preceding the network broadcast of "Cheers'" final episode.
 "Cheers" will still be seen in its regular time slots at 7:30 and 11 p.m. on KTLA. A complete schedule of the "Salute to Cheers" episodes, as well as the regularly scheduled episodes of the week, follows:
