 ATLANTA, July 31 /PRNewswire/ -- The Medallion Business Intelligence System (BIS), an easy-to-use sales productivity system that integrates call, planning and syndicated data accessible from corporate host mainframes is now available for sales managers in the pharmaceutical industry from Sales Technologies, Inc.
 "Medallion BIS offers field sales managers what they've never had before: a comprehensive decision support tool," said William Hopkins, product manager for Medallion BIS. "This transforms the raw data on the operation and performance of a sales force into information essential for decision-making."
 Because Medallion BIS is a personal computer-based product, managers can run their territories from their own offices, continues Hopkins. The intuitive graphic user interface (GUI) shortens the learning curve, as well as encourages use by all the members of a sales organization.
 Medallion BIS features visually compelling color chart and report formats, summarized overviews and the ability to drill below the surface for deeper levels of detail. Managers can also navigate through the system to explore "what if" scenarios and ask ad hoc questions to determine the most productive course of action.
 "For example, managers can see who the top and bottom performers are according to target attainment, resource usage, call coverage and market share," added Hopkins. "Answers to the questions 'How many of my resources are being used productively?' and 'Are my reps calling on the right doctors often enough?' are now easily within reach."
 Current investments in Data and Territory Management Systems are integrated into the solution and put to work. The system collects and consolidates corporate sales results and expense data, sales activities and external syndicated data available from IMS America or other industry sources.
 "Essentially, a corporation can leverage investments in information it has already made," explained Hopkins.
 The Medallion BIS is being introduced simultaneously with the Sales Technologies' Medallion Territory Management (TM) system, also designed expressly for the pharmaceutical industry. Medallion BIS can run in conjunction with Sales Technologies' suite of sales force productivity products or as a stand-alone application using any territory management program including paper-based systems.
